Shooting a million dollar car on the beach
It’s not often that you get to shoot a million dollar car on the beach but at last months Rally Australia I got the opportunity to do so. With the Ford Fiesta RS WRC being retired to make way for the all new 2017 specification model M-Sport wanted to give the car a send off with some photos of it’s “retirement” on the beach. The Fiesta RS WRC uses a four cylinder 1600cc with a restricted Garrett Turbocharger that produces over 300 BHP and 450 Nm of torque in a car that weighs just 1200KG. It uses full time 4WD to put the power down and huge 355mm Brembo ventilated discs with four-piston monoblock calipers to slow it up. Aside from the fact it is a multiple winner of rounds of the WRC it is in the most amazing colour that just pops when you photograph it.
And here a couple of my shots of it in action……
The shots on the beach were taken with a Nikon D810 and Nikon 70-200mm 2.8 while the action photos were taken with a Nikon D500 & Nikon D750 with the Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 or Nikon 200-500mm f5.6.
