I had the privilege to photograph a truly special home last week. Originally in town the victorian era home had been transported to a rural setting, extended, lovingly restored and them surrounded by 5 acres of beautiful park like gardens. A very special place.

Some of my photos have just appeared in a feature article in the latest Truckpower magazine. Isuzu liked the images so much they have asked me to shoot more trucks for them.

I’ve been shooting a few jobs for the National Buildplan Group lately. They are one of Australia’s buggest building companies and specialise in commercial buildings. The latest job was of a new trade centre that is very close to completion. Sometimes in photography reflective services can be a bit of a challenge and they don’t get much more refective than these. I think we did a pretty damn good job.

I was fortunate to photograph some great people in 2011 from politicians to cancer survivors and real estate agents to promotional staff so thought I would share some of my favourite images with you.

I get to see some pretty amazing properties in my job but  I recently had the privilege to photograph a very special home. On the North Shore, it was spectacularly located with deep water frontage on the Hastings River.

The client & I were very happy with the end results and I have to say they looked pretty impressive in the full A3 page ad in Domain magazine. They are also going be used in a feature article in the Sydney Morning Herald too.

I’ve spoken before about the way we now do dusk shoots and how we paint with light but I thought you might like to see a few recent examples.

I recently had the privilege to photograph Zyxomma, a fabulous home designed and owned by one of the Mid North Coast’s most well known & respected architects. So no pressure then!

The home itself was mainly constructed of concrete panels that were poured on site. I have to say to create a building of such an industrial looking material especially considering the location, in a bush area directly opposite a beach, was a pretty brave thing to do. But boy does it work, especially when it’s combined with the beautiful hardwood timber floors. I loved it and I just hope the photos do it justice.

Last week I was proud to be the official photographer of Rally Australia once again. This is Australia’s round of the World Rally Championship. The WRC has some truly great drivers  currently competing including the rally winner Mikko Hirvonen, possibly the greatest ever rally driver Sebastien Loeb, Jari-Matti Latvala, Petter Solberg and Sebastien Ogier.

But one of the biggest drawcards in the rally was American driver Ken Block. Although he wasn’t expected to win he was certainly the most popular driver competing thanks to his hugely succesful DC shoes Gymkana videos on YouTube.

It was in the world of extreme sports where Block first became famous. He had a great career as an accomplished skateboarder, snowboarder and motocross rider, and was also the co-founder of one of action sports most successful companies, DC Shoes.

Anyway I had to opportunity to spend a few days photographing Ken and found him to be a really great down to earth guy. Whether it was at Ford’s cocktail party or in the service park he was great to work with. He and Mikko Hirvonen even took time out to appear at Coffs Harbour high school to promote CAMS new road safety programme. Needless to say they drew quite a crowd.

Anyway I thought you might like to see a few more of my favourite shots that I took of Ken in action at last weekends Rally Australia.

I’ve been shooting a lot of aerial photos lately particularly of road construction for the RTA and also Leighton Construction. As we were coming into land in Port Macquarie on Monday I grabbed this shot and I thinks it’s possibly my favourite aerial I have taken of Port Macquarie. I just love the view up the river with all the boats coming and going. In the high res you can even see a guy in his kayak. A great record of just another day in paradise.
